hub means a Northeast Asian center (headquarters) or a Northeast Asian gateway
for global logistics.
The more the world economy grows, the more important role logistics plays in business. These days, market performance relies on product quality, price and supply and all of them are directly affected by performance of the logistics system. In order to provide flexible and efficient logistics services for dealing with high volumes of freight traffic, firms tend to build logistics networks of ‘Hub and Spoke’ system with large logistics centers. These logistics centers can provide various logistics services to a specific customer or product.
The Netherlands and Singapore can be singled out as the most successful countries in
becoming regional logistics and distribution hubs. Despite the fact that they are small and
resource poor countries, they have achieved high economic growth largely by becoming trade
and logistics hubs in their respective regions.
