Positive Effects:
I would say there are about 3 positive effects in Korean economy caused by Korea-US FTA.
1. We will be able to secure the world’s largest market (US market) safely and also be able to alleviate the trade friction. If the trade barriers such as tariff between Korea and US disappear, our exportation will increase in huge number. To revitalize the energy into our economy, we are going to have to increase the exportation in industry field. Textiles, clothing, leathers, shoes, automobiles, electronics, etc. are important industry fields to be increased in exporting. In other words, if we come up to an agreement, we will be able to sell textiles, clothing, leathers, shoes, automobiles, electronics, etc. in US market with no limit. To people who don’t have economic knowledge, this can be explained as that the Korean market and the US market will be treated as one market. We will be able to sell those things in US market like we do in our own market.
