1. What is Convergence?
Digital convergence is mainly driven by the TIME industries (Telecommunication, IT/Internet, Media and Entertainment) and provides new, innovative solutions to consumers and business users. Based on digital technologies and digitized content it encompasses converged devices (such as smartphones, laptops, internet enabled entertainment devices and set top boxes), converged applications (e.g. music download on PC and handheld) and converged networks (IP networks). According to Harry Strasser, former CTO of Siemens "digital convergence will substantially impact people's lifestyle and work style". The next hot trend in digital convergence is converged content, mixing personal (user generated) content with professional (copyright protected) content. An example are personal music videos that combine own photos with chart music and sharing them in social communities on PCs, mobile phones and digital settop boxes.

Digital convergence also refers to the digitalization of traditional media. For example, during the advent of personal computers, text-only documents were the first to be digitized. Increasingly, graphics would be digitized, at first simple illustrations, then eventually photographs. Digital sound evolved from series of single-tone "beeps" to very detailed audio encodings.

The term does not refer only to the existence of technology, but also the mainstream integration of such technology. For example, as of the beginning of the 21st century, animated holograms exist, but are far from being commonplace, whereas one might imagine that such technology will be available for home use in the same way as laptops are available to the general public today.

Other terms may be used for this situation. Siliwood, for example, is a portmanteau of Silicon Valley and Hollywood, referring to all aspects of cinema digitalization, from digital cameras replacing film stock, to computer-generated effects replacing physical special effects.

2. Influences of Convergence
Digital Convergence means not only relationship between product-product and technology-technology, but also causes progress of human life. Maybe our digital life wills world of convergence and hybrid.

There are 3 sides of influence. Integration, gap widening, new business environment are it.
(1) Integration
In the future, is present categorization will stand as ever? can it be so? Maybe, Cell phone will be not ‘phone’. We predict common integration about all communication devices. If digital convergence still stand, so cell phone and TV and PC will be integrate one thing. These three devices are symbol of mobility, broadcasting, and internet. These have each characteristic, but, it stands for one same purpose, communication. Then, we think the advent of ‘Communicator’, the integrated device.

(2) Gap Widening
According to diffusion of digital convergence, it occur confusion and crisis. Because it must require new type knowledge, then existing workers and experts should be adapts new trend.
And digital convergence influences digital culture and related social phenomena. Possibly, new technology and new knowledge can widen the gap about generations and social classes. Lack of progressive digital convergence knowledge can be severe. Digital convergence is not only tool of digitalized life but also tool of survival.

(3) New Business Environment
Digital convergence will changes business environment. These changes have crisis and opportunity, both two sides.
Crisis is originated at uncertainty and deepened competition. Integration of device will be occur limitless competition of different categories.
On the other hand, new opportunity will be occur too. Somebody improves new competitive advantage. And new opportunity will be raise.
