☞In Korea, there are several complaints from foreign tourists. For example, one is insufficient sizes in clothes. Another one is difficulty in communication between sales persons and customers due to a limited proficiency in English. The other one is inefficiency in shopping mall systems like an infrequent use of credit cards.

According to the market result of domestic shopping tourism product, shopping ratio of foreign exchange earnings has been steadily increasing. In addition, Tourists to South Korea’s main tourist shopping items are changed with times.
1960s: traditional handicraft.
1970s: traditional handicraft, amethyst, toys
1980s: shoes, leather goods, ginseng, jewelry.
1990s: clothing, groceries, shoes, leather goods, traditional handicraft
In the past, many tourist tended to purchase mainly traditional handicrafts. However, as time passed, the type of shopping products recently have become various and clothing and food etc are preferred.
