NIKE, Inc. is a major American supplier of
athletic shoes, apparel and sports equipment.

The company takes its name from Nike, the Greek Goddess of Victory, after company designer Jeff Johnson presented the name to founder Phil Knight.

Nike markets its products under its own brand as well as
Nike Golf, Nike Pro, Air Jordan, Team Starter, and
subsidiaries including Bauer, Cole Haan, and Converse.

Nike is the largest sportswear supplier in the world.

Nike has created a corporate culture rich with employee loyalty and team spirit. Red "Swooshes" float across everything from screen savers to coffee cups at the company's headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.
The company chooses to call its headquarters a "campus" instead of an office.

iPod nano, or directly with a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Generation iPod Touch, iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4.

On September 7, 2010, Nike released
the Nike+ GPS App, powered by MotionX that does not require the separate shoe sensor. This application works using the accelerometer and GPS of the iPhone and the accelerometer of the iPod Touch.
