    Traffic Information Gathering System should accept traffic information automatically gathered by mechanical devices such as a detector, beacon, probe car, and so on delivered from traffic-related organizations or a traffic locale system. It should also accept the function of gathering system that manually processes CCTV image information, reported data, and other information such as construction, accidents, or events.
    The road network to manage traffic information is made up of a database based on an electronic map. Traveling time is calculated by processing real-time data transmitted from a gathering device. It is also calculated by a traffic information calculating unit that is set up by fusing with the road’s past traffic information data. According to the demand of users, the optimum route, traveling time, and other necessary information is calculated.
    Transmitting Traffic Information System delivers traffic information processed by analyzing and processing traffic information system through all kinds of wire and wireless delivery media.
    Traffic information is broadcast using wire and wireless telephone network, wire and wireless Internet, and other wireless data networks. Traffic Information System has to accept these characteristics of transmitting media, so traffic information data should be managed.
    Regional Traffic Information System controlled by each local broadcasting company gathers traffic state data from related organizations or gathering devices, analyzes and manages gathered information appropriately based on road networks, uses analyzed data for traffic broadcasting, controls and transmits the data to companies and users.
