homosexuality runs in families
concordance for homosexuality is more common among monozygotic twins than among dizygotic twins or natural siblings
a possible gene for homosexuality on the X chromosome.
In two excellent twin studies homosexual orientation compared with 16% to 22% of dizygotic twins.
Approximately the same or a slightly lower percentage of non twin brothers or sisters were homosexual

biological predisposition
slightly higher levels of testosterone or estrogen at certain critical periods of development
Variations in hormonal levels
structural differences in the area of the brain
