We’ll going to suggest our alternatives. We’ll discuss the solutions from one of the major dairy firm’s point of view.
1) Outsourcing intermediate channel
We can outsource intermediation to reliable intermediate agency. Then we can focus on our production.
2) Internalizing intermediate channel
Another solution of managing supply chain is vertical integration. We can integrate middlemen to us gradually rather than increase production immoderately. Then we can get more clean and reliable milk and also we can get consumer trust by managing supply chain effectively under our own control.
3) Integration of information system
By integration of information system with ERP, we can build total logistic management system which provide integrated service in overall supply chain.
4) Introducing RF-ID tags
These technologies can contribute to supply chains through their advanced unique identification and real-time communication properties. RFID technology can make supply chains reduce their operational costs.
5) Introducing advanced CRM to China market
It’s very important that sustaining sales by getting confidence from customers. To restore broken trust because of melamine crisis from customers, careful customer relationship management is required.

However, in this situation, dairy supply chain in China is crowded with lots of minor middlemen agencies, it’s hard to find reliable agency and outsource distribute channel. So, it is suitable solution, considering ofthis situation. Dairy supply chain is formed disorderly because of the rapid growth, building up well-organized information system is required to gain competitive advantage. Also, restoring consumer trust and managing relationship with customers required to get over a difficulty of consumer’s distrust. RF-ID technology and CRM would be successful solution.
