1. Introduction
1) Topic
The topic of our team is an analysis of the institutional crisis at the end of Koryǒ regime. According to a common view held by general Korean scholars, the reforms in the latter period of Koryǒ influenced Chosun and caused developments. According to Duncun's book, however, those reforms in the latter period of Koryǒ were not fundamental and were nothing but a temporary event. Therefore we selected as our topic a review accompanied by a study to see the influence of reforms on the institutional crises at the end of Koryǒ dynasty and why they could not serve as a fundamental measure.

2) Motive of the examine
In chapter 4 Institutional Crisis󰡑of 'The Origins Of Chosun Dynasty', Duncun considered the institutional crisis at the latter period of Koryǒ as throne's weakness and an increase in the central officials. And regarding the throne's weakness, he attributed it to the lack of royal finance, revolt by powerful reigning families, Mongol's inference, and simple reforms. He also described the reforms by Kings Chungseon, Chungmok, Kongmin to overthrow them along with the factors for their failure. In conclusion, he said that the reforms of Koryǒ society repeated failures without results, and thinKing about fundamental resolutions did not start until 14th century. Here we'd like to examine the relationship between throne's weakness and the increase in central officials, review Duncun's opinion on the reasons why the reforms by Kings Chungseon, Chungmok, Kongmin did not become fundam
