NC Soft is a company that creates and develops unique online games. The company also works on publishing profitable online games in and out of the country. Founded in 1997, it has started off as a venture business and seen as a pioneer in its sector. Since 1998, after the introduction of the most famous online game called “Lineage”, NC Soft has been leading the online game market within Korea and by 2000 it has grown into a global corporation and started branching in the USA, Taiwan, Japan, China, Thailand and Europe.

NC Soft has created variety of games such as MMORPG, casual games, and web board games. MMORPG is also known as massive multiplayer online role playing game. It is played by huge number of players within a server. The famous MMORPG developed by NC Soft include Lineage, AION, Guild war and others. Casual games are video games usually targeted at casual gamers. They include any type of game play and fit in any genre. Examples of casual games are punch-monster, pointer blank and slugger and etc. Lastly, there are web board games that are played through plug-in programs stored in web browser. Unlike other online games, these games do not require downloading of client program. Might and magic, heroes’ kingdoms, and golden poker are good examples.
