Introduction
1) Study Background
Here we are in the 21st century and Korea’s businesses have become more innovative and global to keep pace with globalization. The businesses are changing quickly. On the contrary, organizational culture and system within them fail to meet speed and direction of theirs. Performance review system for employees is important one of such things. Existing performance review system in organization is stiff conservative and vertical. In the organization, employees are evaluated by boss. But they cannot have opportunity to evaluate somebody. Then, they may feel threatened psychologically that they are in an unfair situation. This unilateral evaluation sometimes causes illogical results from the review. For instance, a last report staff is best regarded by boss (he has a power of evaluation) and some staffs get a free ride when they have team project. When employees experience this unilateral evaluation, they feel unfairness. Then it can also lead to reducing of employee’s job satisfaction and job productivity.
And, evaluation system has a large influence in appropriating annual income and chance for promotions. These things put a pressure to employees. For these reasons, unilateral evaluation system can lead to job stress from employees and finally they may decide turnover.
In the front part, we found the research problem that unfair evaluation system decreases job productivity and job satisfaction. So, we try to research about ‘fair evaluation system improves job productivity and job satisfaction?’ the other way. This study will be an experiment research.
