Ⅱ. OFF-Line Kyobobooks

1. Selection of Location
Stores of Kyobobook's are located where floating population, market, transportations are considered.

2. Layout
1. Arrangement of books
Kyobobooks devide books into 11 kinds and arrange books by this standard. It secures professionalism of classifying books. Also it place computers that customers can search books without staffs' help. Near door, which has lots of floating people, magazines are placed and near aisle, books are placed on low shelves that people can see books easily while they are walking by.

2. Standard of books, stationaries, CDs and cafe's arrangement
In Kyobobooks store, not only books also shops for CDs, stationaries, cafe and place for customers reading books. It makes kyobobooks not just only bookstore but place offering entertainment. These are designed with the flow of customers movements.

3. Purchasing management : Outsourcing
Kyobobooks are focusing on service, not publishing. Thus, publishers outsource sales to Kyobobooks and Kyobobooks sell books in their stores. Big publishers which contract with Kyobobooks transact directly but small publishers offer their books through middleman. Transacting directly or not is decision of publishers.
In the past, big bookstores operated their own publishers so Kyobobooks also managed its own publisher for profit. However, Kyobobooks decided to stop running own publisher because its efficiency was low.
