본문내용
Organic Light Emitting Diode(OLED)
An OLED is an electronic device made by placing a series of organic thin films between two conductors. When electrical current is applied, a bright light is emitted
A device that is 100 to 500 nanometers thick or about 200 times smaller than a human hair
Cheaper price
Less limited viewing angle
Higher contrast ratio
Easier to make
Less power
Self-luminous
Active matrix OLED
AMOLED is made of an integrated electronic back-plane made from thin film transistors(TFTs)
A defective pixel produces only a dark defect, which is considered to be much less objectionable than a line defect
or a bright point defect(such as in LCD panels)
Each pixel addressed independently
Release the color using not the RGB illuminant but the filter after emitting the light using white illuminant.
Advantage of WOLED
Unpatterned emitting layer(no masks)
Aperture ration not affected by RGB patterning Higher contrast ratio
Enabled by high efficiency white with less power
Reduced differential aging
