Modern society : fast-paced, increase of knowledge and information, aging society, population boom due to urbanization, population boom due to Urbanization. Accordingly, new educational philosophy has emerge. That is the life-long education. The lifelong education is lifelong education that is not limited to age. Also away from the existing school education, learners can choose education time, place, course etc. Korea is focused on life-long education. So, national effort for the construction of a lifelong learning society, lifelong learning institutions will be established. The life-long education institution is facilities registered under the Lifelong Education Act and major objective is life-long education.
Our team conducts a study about Gwangmyeong city as Lifelong educational city. Because of lack of educational infrastructure and interest about lifelong education, the city declared first lifelong educational city of Korea in 1999 and has got recognition of the best lifelong educational city of Korea.
The city’s lifelong educational system is organized around the lifelong learning community center. The center develops policy study and operates educational program with philosophy and moving. Also it organize network both inside and outside the city
