Our interest in bodies and beauties is growing significantly, especially for the people in their twenties, including us. Before we started this team project, we found the raw data in relation to '5th national anthropometric data measurement project' called Size Korea, funded by Korea Agency for Technology and Structures (http://sizekorea.kats.go.kr/), during 2003~2004. In this government project, there are body size data of 15,000 people who were randomly selected in regard to 119 categories totally, which were sorted by gender and age brackets all over the country.
By analyzing these data, it is possible to classify the Korean standard body types periodically and recognize the difference of body type between each age group. For example, there is Korean KS criterion, which divides the body type into the size of drop value, gap of hip girth and waist girth. (N: Normal type, A: Small breast and big hip, H: Big breast and small hip). These basic data for garment size specification could be usefully adapted for the apparel companies' own sizing system according to their age targets and body shapes, to achieve efficient production and better fit. It also could be applied to furniture, automobile packaging, etc.
