|As education level of the society has been elevated, the enthusiasm for children’s education is very high more than ever. In this situation the most important issue is developing creativity for the children. With this needs, there are a lot of children contents to improve creativity. Children’s museum stand in the center of these change. Originally a museum has the purpose on showing the collections and their historical value produced by the course of time. Because it cannot be reproduced, so peopla have to hold some distance from the exhibits. This way of seeing is not familiar to children. So the meaning of children’s museum has been changed to the space that exhibit the thing about their real life and universal values of human, and children are permitted to get close and touch, move and play with thing exhibited. Especially to enhance their experience, there are attempt to combine exhibition contents with interesting story, just like theme park.
On the other hand, many contents for children are reproduced related to various media, called media franchise. It costs a lot of money and effort to produce the contents, media franchise help to improve the profitability.
This study put the purpose on developing subjects for the Children’s culture center of Gwangju, Korea. And then to improve the children’s experience, familiar story will be combined with the subjects. This story was borrowed to make a suggetion for the media franchise. As the experiemtal tries for media franchise, it was proposed to make a pop-up book and workshop program.
Considering the Children’s culture center is under construction now, this study has the limitation. But, because needs for children’s contents are increased, it can be a meaningful experiment and have possibilities to improve more.
