|The purpose of this study is to understand the current status of tourism related reports of Online Newspapers by using contents analysis. Three online newspapers (i.e., Money Toady, Nocut News and Edaily) were selected based on domain reach rates, and a total of 9,465 tourism related reports published in 2012 were collected using a keyword ‘Tourism.’ Among them, 645 reports were analyzed on the type of reports, themes, news sources, and coverage. As results, the regional governments (31.8%) was the most frequent used news sources, followed by other related institutions (11.8%) and tourism industries (9.5%). While the proportion of sub-topics covered was reasonably distributed across the entire topics, ‘Industry status’ (17.3%), followed by festival and event’ (9.0%), was the most popular topics in this study. Lastly and the most importantly, reports of online newspapers seem to have a neutral tone and the majority of reports were simply delivering the facts and information (“Straight”, 94.0%). Thus, the role of online newspapers was not important as a social constructor yet, although it produced a considerable amount of news articles.
