|This study analyzed the trends of research that focused on outdoor wear. Since the mid-2000s, the outdoor wear that was regarded as a subcategory of sportswear has been noted as a new trend. This study analyzed outdoor wear-focused researches that were published through The Korean Society of Costume, The Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles, The Costume Culture Association, The Korean Society of Fashion Business, The Society of Fashion and Textile Industry, The Korea Fashion & Costume Design Association, all of which publish journals dedicated to textile design, and KCI (Korea Citation Index) would cite articles published on the journals. From the 6 journals above, the study selected and analyzed a total of 196 research articles that would address outdoor wear, which were published from 2000 to 2015. As data analysis, those articles were grouped by journal, year of publishing, and research subject, and their trends were analyzed; and as analysis method, descriptive statistics was used to indicate frequency and percentage with SPSS version 21.0. This study has its significance in research as it provides theoretical foundations for outdoor wear related studies.
