|With the rapid development of digital technology, new media offers exciting possibilities for contemporary art and design development. Not only has this deeply affected the traditional forms of artistic creation and expression, it has also greatly affected the public’s aesthetic consciousness. Although it is one of the most advanced forms of image-based art, new media art also inherits concepts and features from traditional art and uses new technical methods that continuously enrich and develop this new art form. Lines, shape, light and shade, colors, textures, and space form the foundation of this work, just as they have for many types of art. Design principles include layout, contrast, rhythm, balance, and unity. There are methods and principles used by artists to organize and utilize basic elements to convey specific meanings. In this paper, we will discuss the application of the new visual language in new media art and the possibility of innovation beyond traditional restraints. With this study, we promote more effective application and research of visual communication design in new media.
