|Black toner particles were prepared by suspension copolymerization, with styrene and butyl methacrylate (BMA) as monomer in the water phase. Azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) was used as initiator, and tricalcium phosphate (TCP) and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), as stabilizer and costabilizer, respectively, Homogenizer was used to have carbon black (CB) and charge control agent (CCA) dispersed in monomer. Reaction was carried out in an internally stirred reactor at a selected temperature between 60 and 80℃. The ratio between styrene and BMA was generally selected to be 7:3. Average particle size varied from 10 to 200μm depending on homogenizer speed, and glass transition ranged from 50 to 60℃, depending on reaction conditions.
