|Toner particles were prepared by suspension copolymerization of styrene and butyl methacrylate as base monomer. Azobisisobutyronitrile was used as initiator and hydrophobic silica, as stabilizer. Internally stirred reactor was used for synthesis at a selected temperature between 65 and 85℃. Polymerization reaction usually takes 6 to 8 hours depending on reaction conditions, reaching 100% of reaction conversion. Particle size varies from 5 to 20 μm, depending on reaction conditions, and glass transition ranges from 55 to 75℃, depending on the ratio of the two monomers.
