영문초록
This thesis is about "a study to exploit models for acting training through the Stanislavsky`s method of physical action. It is not to present the ready- made models for acting training but to establish the foundation of theoretical method for the study of making a model for acting training. This paper examines the structure of an actor, the principle of acting and the organic relationship between conscious factors and unconscious factors with presenting some charts. Based on this examination, models for acting training through Stanislavsky`s method of physical action is purported. Although the method of physical action cannot be a cure-all for all kinds of acting style, the background of Stanislavsky`s system as a theory for acting pedagogy and the scientific assets of the realistic age set up the important foundation for our modern teaching method of acting. What is better, it is the tendency for contemporary acting style to give a new turn to be visual imagery. So the physical acting method must be the necessary principle for the field of acting as well as teaching spot, because it intends to be the teaching method by the action and for the action, which is an essence of acting art. This paper studies what Stanislavsky`s method of physical action is, including it`s birth, concept and principle, compared with other general method of acting. Etude is the most important concept for the application of Stanislavsky`s method for creating acting and teaching acting. Etude method is the smallest unit but it is the organic training tool as an organic whole to practice the physical acting method. Although Etude can be applied as dividing the various steps for creating acting and teaching acting, this paper sets limits to the stage of the "creating a character starting from oneself". The study of each stage of Etude method needs too much quantity and I think it should be the most practical stage for our systematical teaching method of acting. The most important factor to practice Etude is `to find out action` and `to recognize the psychology following action`. And to practice this course requires `the object of character`, `the given circumstance` and `logic & coherence`. So to speak, stirring the subconsciousness by improvisation is an essential principle of Etude. This paper which exploits the model considering the beginner`s latent abilities and each psycho-physical organ presents several charts, for making it practical and scientific. I think that it will help you understand the whole concept of acting education and organize the system of individual acting training. Because understanding a principle gets you to adapt method to circumstances. Those who teach acting through the method presented by this paper should keep in mind the guiding principle of Etude, which is essential for creating character as well as for teaching. The 5 models and the 13 situations presented by this paper can be applied variously to a given condition of teacher and learner. It is important that a teacher induce a learner to accomplish it understanding the whole concept and the object of each studying model. Learners who accomplished each model and situation through Etude can control freely their organs to control the parts of body for creating. Only the repeated exercise to create character is needed. I expect that Studying Models of Etude presented by this paper help our national teaching method of acting to be more concrete and scientific. For to systemize teaching method and to establish theory of acting education does not mean to make a good actor only. It means for art education which has taken an apprentice system to have a public and universal program, and to get `the united education system` for basic course of the art education. It is matter of course that art education should pay regard to the individuality of learner to develop it freely. However, to mark an evaluation means to be universal in the world.
