각박한 현대사회에서 패러디는 즐거움을 나눠 줄수 있는 수단인 동시에 사회 비판적 효과까지 누릴 수 있는 중요한 방법론이기도 하다. 이러한 이유로 인해 문학, 사회, 음악, 예술에 이르기까지 패러디의 역할과 이를 통한 사회 변화와 개혁의 효과는 놀라운 것이라고 설명할 수 있다. 팝아트는 영국과 미국에서 일어난 1950년대의 예술 운동으로 당시 예술계를 이끌어 오던 세상에 큰 파장을 몰고 온 바 있다. 다양한 문화와 매체와의 소통은 예술의 대중화를 이끌어 냈고, 이러한 영향은 만화, 광고와 같은 분야에까지 폭넓게 나타나며 현대 예술에서 중요한 역할와 방향을 제시하였다. 디지털 사진의 발전은 현실감 있는 작품을 요구하던 패러디 분야에 무한한 상상의 날개를 달아줬다. 수많은 사진가들은 비현실적인 패러디 세상을 표현함으로 예술계의 흐름을 이끌게 되었고, 이러한 작품들은 대중으로부터 단순한 호기심 이상의 관심과 집중을 받게 되었다. 데이비드 라샤펠은 팝아트적인 요소가 강한 디지털 사진을 통해 유명 작품을 패러디하는 작가로 화려한 색감이나 상상력의 현실화 이상의 메시지를 전달해주는 사진가이다. 본 연구는 데이비드 라샤펠의 최근 작품을 중심으로 사진을 이용한 패러디의 중요성과 효과에 대해 알아보고 이를 바탕으로 패러디에 대한 올바른 인식과 활용 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
영문초록
A parody in the tough modern society is a means to share happiness and is an important methodology to create relevant social criticism at the same time. For these reasons, parody that is found in art or culture, including literature, society, music and film plays a major role of social change and reform. Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s in Britain and the late 1950s in the United States and dealt a heavy blow to the art world at that time. Its diverse culture and mass communication created the popularity of fine arts. These impacts widely employed aspects of mass culture, such as adverting, comic books and mundane cultural objects. Besides, pop art presented a vital role and goal on contemporary art. The development of digital photography greatly helped the parody field that required realistic works. A number of photographers led to flow of the art world as expressing the unrealistic parody world. These works had public interest more than simple curiosity. David Lachapelle is a photographer and director who parody famous works through strong pop-art factors of digital photography. Besides, he is noted for his surreal, unique, sexualized, and often humorous style. The research figure out about the importance and effect of parody using photography focused on the latest works of David Lachapelle. Also, it offer the right awareness and utilization about parody.
