국문초록
본 연구는 고등학교 교과서의 서술을 중심으로 학교 평화교육의 내용을 분석하고자 한다. 연구대상은 고등학교 도덕 교과서 5권, 사회 교과서 9권이다. 현대 평화연구의 평화와 갈등 개념, 평화교육의 목표, 접근방식, 교수-학습방법을 정리하고 이를 토대로 교과서 분석준거를 설정했다. 분석준거는 학습목표, 주제로의 접근방식, 폭력, 갈등의 학습내용, 교수-학습방법, 평화로운 삶의 가능성의 4가지이다. 연구결과 학습목표는 인지적 목표가 압도적이며, 주제에 대한 접근방법은 개인적 평화로서의 평화교육과 갈등의 중재와 해소로서의 평화교육 방식만 읽을 수 있다. 교과서들은 폭력은 다루지 않으며, 다양한 갈등을 소개하고 극복방안을 모색하고 있다. 그러나 갈등의 역사적ㆍ구조적 원인에 대해서는 서술하지 않는다. 학생들의 관심을 자극하고 자기활동을 이끌어 낼만한 내용과 방법은 부족하다. 이런 분석에 따라 폭력개념이 평화교육의 핵심이 되어야 하며, 학생들의 일상생활과 관련하여 흥미를 유발하며, 자기활동을 촉진할 수 있는, 그리고 학생들의 자기 성찰을 자극할 수 있는 내용과 방법으로 서술되어야 한다는 제언을 하고 있다.
영문초록
This study is to analyze the contents of peace education at highschool in South Korea. Reseach objects are 5 moral and 9 social studies textbooks. At first, Violence and conflict of modern peace research, and goal, way of approaching and teaching-learning methods of peace education are summarized. According to this, analysis categories of textbooks are presented. They are learning objectives, learning contents, teaching-learning methods and possibity of peaceful life. The research results are as follows: Most of learning objectives are cognitive. The approach to peace education of textbooks is on the basis of peace education as a personal peace and as mediation and resolution of conflict. The textbooks don`t describe violence and explain various conflicts and methods of conflict resolution. But they don`t tell the historical and structural causes of conflicts. There are few contents and methods from which the interests of students are derived and that thus can lead to the students` activities. According to these results, the author sugeests that the central concept of peace education has to be violence and textbooks` contents have to derive the interests and activities of students. In additional, they have to stimulate self-reflection of students.
