It is very difficult to teach Korean proverbs to foreign people. because they contain Korean`s unique emotion, feeling and conversation styles. So I argued that we could teach Korean proverbs only in comprehension dimension. In this paper, I also studied the norms to select Korean proverbs for Korean language teaching. Then I concluded that the most essential norms are frequency and range of each proverb. Each one`s level of difficulty can be considered as well after the most essential norms.
