This study analyzed the Korean textbooks used in Saenal School and in the Asian Community School, especially focusing on vocabulary, given topics and cultural fields. The results in developing desirable Korean language textbooks for migrant students are as follow: First, the textbooks should concern topics that have close relationship with the daily lives of migrant students, in the meantime including both general purpose Korean for adaptation and academic purpose Korean for learning. Second, the textbooks should consider migrant students` Korean language skills, learning capacity and understanding of Korean culture and society so to systematically reflect the goal, teaching method and assessment of Korean language education. These sorts of textbooks will not only improve Korean language skills, but also build a righteous perception of the Korean society and culture. Third, the textbooks should be developed according to diverse language speakers, age and purpose of study. These factors are getting more and more diverse as time passes, which accordingly demands diverse textbooks.
