This study is the base work for Literature Canon Selection of Korean language culture education for foreign learners. First, this research will analyze Genre distribution of recorded works of existing texts and examine the problems. Based on this analysis, the concrete examination on the Literature Canon Selection methods and the objective standards of Korean language Education is the goal of this study. The most important principle of the Literature Canon Selection methods for Korean language culture education is that it must connect with Korean culture education contents and consider the learner`s level. Also, this study will propose the selection method that reflects the needs of the learners and teachers. Canon selection work for Korean language education must consider the connection of culture education contents. Selection of Literature Canons, in the future, will become a method that is applicable to all of the beginning, middle, and high level learners. By correcting the canon to suit the standard language and diction, the Literature Canon Selection can be used as reading material for foreign learners in the future.
