    영문초록
    The majority of the education on Korean culture is oriented toward the discussion of the relationship between language and culture or consists of the experience activities of Korean culture desired by the learners or the Korean cultural contents included in Korean language textbooks. However, there have been few discussions on the Korean cultural contents in the Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK) to objectively assess Korean language proficiency. Therefore, this study examined the Korean cultural contents in the 11th to 21st TOPIK by measuring the frequency of the 3487 test items classifying them into language culture, living culture, social culture, information culture and mental culture. As the results, in the elementary level, other than the living and information culture items, language and mental culture items did not appear. In the medium and advanced level tests, social, language and mental culture items appeared more frequently than the living or information culture items. Finally, it is hoped that these study findings will help in diversifying Korean cultural contents in TOPIK and setting test questions considering more in-depth Korean culture including Koreans` value system and ideologies.
