    The Study on language learning strategy use of successful Chinese students. Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 37, 167~193. This study was conducted to investigate language learning strategies used by Chinese students in learning the Korean language. When learning the Korean language, those high achieving students effectively use in-depth strategies. And those learners with high Korean achievement utilize target language appropriately in everyday conversation and effectively transfer their knowledge gained into actual classroom setting. But those low achieving students felt more fear to the exposure to the Korean language so that they could not network well with other classmates or Korean-speaking individuals. Compared to those high achieving students who used metacognitive strategies actively, those low achieving students were not good at self-directed study in which they continued their learning persuaded by external factors.
