    The Direction and Task of Text Analysis Study for Korean Writing Education. Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 37, 275~301. This study aims to understand the direction and task of text analysis study by reviewing the preceding studies on text analysis for Korean writing education. This study observed the text analysis study conducted in Korean writing education from the perspectives of analysis materials, analysis contents and method. Considering the trend of text analysis studies, it could be known that for construction of Korean writing education materials basic studies such language characteristics for each category of text and analysis on structure should be achieved. In addition, the analysis on learner`s composition should be carried out classifying the text categories and analysis tool should be supplemented. Besides for the writing education for the purpose of learning genre analysis studies using various texts in addition to the academic theses are desperately required.
