This study was conducted for 20 persons in total, which consisted of 10 persons from an experimental group and 10 persons from a control group to verify the effect of abdominal obesity management including aroma therapy on leptin, blood lipids and body composition from 21th June 2010 to 23th October 2010. Before the experiment, both groups listened to the purpose of this study, answered the questionnaire and received serum test. For the experimental group, aroma massage, inhalation method, exercise therapy, diet therapy and behavior modification therapy was implemented, and for the control group, exercise therapy, diet therapy and behavior modification therapy was implemented, and test as the same contents of a preliminary inspection was implemented after 6 weeks. Firstly, the experimental group of abdominal obesity program including aroma therapy made an effective difference than control group for body fat and hip circumference, showing a distinct difference in weight, body mass index, hip circumference, abdominal obesity ratio. Secondly, the experimental group of abdominal obesity management including aroma therapy affected a change of leptin hormone, but there was no distinct difference. Thirdly, Satisfaction after the program showed a distinct difference in muscle flexibility, helpful management of body shape, intention of recommending to others. According to the above results, the experimental group of abdominal obesity management including aroma therapy had a positive effect on physical measurements, body composition, blood lipids and leptin than the control group of exercise therapy. Moreover, it is expected that it can be used as an effective method to manage abdominal obesity of adult women because it makes more distinct difference in weight, body mass index, hip circumference, abdominal obesity ratio.
