This critique is based on the two aspects: effects of nationalism and accepting theories in common. Throughout the aspects, it is possible to figure out three major points in middle schools` “History” textbooks edited in 2009, which are the criteria in achievements, standard writing, and its description. As a result, the “History” textbooks demonstrated the excessiveness of nationalistic understandings, which showed the distortion of the reality. Also, it is objectionable that the description had irrational understandings in history, and the studies were not fully acceptable these days although it was common. It seems that the textbooks were divided with the time periods more that it should have been. In the future, it is needed to be written with the right criteria in achievements and writing for readers. Also, it should be written with the fact that goes with the current ideology in nationalism. Before, the history of Korea has been the acceptance and the denial which China set up internationally. However, the contents do not carry this thoroughly. It seems to be obstacles to recognize not only the awareness of the reality but also the preparation for the future. Demonstrating the truth of the history should be considered.
