    영문초록
    Nowadays, Korean society has many discourses about building welfare society. This phenomenon is regarded as a modern social trend. But there are little efforts in the academic world of literature education to achieve this social virtue. In this problematic consciousness, I tried to study the puissance of literature education for the welfare society. In the basis of a standpoint that literature education has the ethical virtue approaching the welfare society, and I argued it`s logical principle. After that, I investigated many theoretical discourses of ethical virtue in literature education and suggested problems awaiting solution. Nextly I clarified the developing aspects of ethical virtue in the process of literature education from the first Korean language education to recently 2012`. After that, as a genre case in literature education, I builded the model of novel education to recognize the problem of welfare society. And I emphasized the subjective attitude of researching formated problems in modern novel. Especially I focused on Korean modern novel. In literature education, the formation of literature is very important. It builds the formality of experiencing literature text. So literature education to experience the various kinds of problem of building welfare society should be practiced according to the formation of literature text.
