|As the aging population continues to increase, "Outplacement" has been highlighted as one of the ways to assist ease the transition process between the economically active population and aged population. Outplacement in Korea, however, has only been carried out by a few large leading companies and consulting firms. Moreover, the use of terminology in "Outplacement" is not academically standardized, and research methodologies and results are also very limited. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the research trends in outplacement for employees of Korean corporations, by reviewing journal articles published, in Korea, since 2000. Through the review of the literature, the following findings were revealed: Firstly, by reviewing different definitions of outplacement, the relationship between various terminologies used was identified. Upon analysis, it was concluded that the number of published research articles related to outplacement numbered a total of 30, and most of the research referred to the term "Outplacement". Secondly, by analyzing research trends of outplacement, the results were categorized into three main trends: (1) research for early-retirement employees, (2) the outplacement programs and their effects, and (3) research for educational needs analysis of outplacement.
