|This article analysed the organizational process and activities of the Beijing Workers Autonomous Federation(BWAF) in the 89`s movement. And it examined the historical trajectory in the socialist historical context, such as a voluntary organization, a new eruption of consciousness, and the emergence of an independent trend. BWAF was not suddenly appeared from outside system opposing to state power, but it sought an independent way of organizing in relation with existing formal trade unions, labor departments and research center, students. It not only appears the nature of mass movements in the history of modern China, but also shows the structural characteristics of Chinese society connected with State system like a chain. BWAF`s influence can be found in emotion or political orientation held by members, rather than the side of the scale and organized activities. It means the emergence of new forms of political resistance in China history.
