|In this study, I carried out Self-foot reflexology, which is a program affecting psychological and physiological criterion of an old age, targeting sixteen women elderly living alone in rural area in order to examine a usefulness of Self-foot reflexology by analyzing the effect on psychological well-being, sleep satisfaction, blood pressure and heart rate after Self-foot reflexology treatments. Self-foot reflexology treatments are conducted 60 minutes one time, twice a week and for 10 weeks. The changes of psychological well-being, sleep satisfaction, blood pressure and heart rate were measured. We reached a conclusion that psychological well-being (p<.001), sleep satisfaction (p<.01), systolic blood pressure (p<.05), diastolic blood pressure (p<.01) and heart rate (p<.01) were significantly change after the Self-foot reflexology treatments. Therefore, Self-foot reflexology should be the appropriate exercise for women elderly living alone to improve their cardiac function.
