영문초록
This study internds to figure out how the goals of multicultural education can be implemented in history classrooms, and to find out the strategies for teaching methods of the construction of historical knowledge in the classroom, thinking that history is considered the most appropriate subject area for multicultural education. First of all, several problems are reexamined that are revealed in the sudden practice of the multicultural education in Korea last six years since multicultural education has been practiced in Korea. Secondly, it is emphasized that diverse approach for history teaching should be implemented, for example, historical view-points, teaching and learning methods, and focus of teaching. History teaching should be changed from providing pre-made historical knowledge to students, to making and interpreting historical knowledge by teachers and students in classrooms, In the process of making and interpreting historical knowledge by students themselves. multicultrual education can be applied concurrently, In short. It is not that multicultural education is one thing and history education is another, but that both of them can be implemented alongside in a classroom. It will depend on the ways and strategies of teachers for leading class.
