Kim Seung Ok`s novel is highly esteemed with appearance of autonomic subject, birth of modern individual searching for self-criterion through self-consciousness but it is breathless sense of guilt which controls his character. Watching the sense of guilt, freedom and self-regulation are distorted somehow. My article, after outlining the sense of guilt, will attempt to examine the process, in which Kim Seung Ok`s characters become the subject through the sense of guilt and the way how they pursue their desires and the method how they possess an object of their desire. The way in which Kim Seung Ok`s characters chase their desires and resolve the problem is almost invariably associated with the logic of exchange and the economic way. In the problem between the sense of guilt and the desires, the subject of Kim Seung Ok reduces bigger guilt making himself bad deliberately, Through this process, he could fulfill his desire and psychological well-being, Like this, his characters decrease bigger sense of guilt through smaller guilt. To acquire desires, the subject has sinned against others. The subject could get something that he or she wants because of someone`s sacrifice then the frame problem can change from sin to exchange. But the trade has been conducted by in due exchange. To make the trade possible the prices of the two things are same. So the problem of the guilty is solved through the exchange. |
