Previous research tells us that individuals with different levels of income, age, and other personal backgrounds should be expected to have different political ideologies and policy preferences, This study finds strong effects of age, economic status and other individual characteristics of the Korean National Assembly members on their ideological preferences, This paper also finds that the political parties they belong to have an effect on the members` ideological positions as mediating factors. This might means that the Korean political party system has been realigning along the line of political ideology. |
