Today, e-learning that utilizes computer and internet has proven its efficiency in various fields including literature, engineering, natural science, and arts and especially, the significance and roles of e-learning in design education, which demands visual details and practice for education, have been consistently addressed. However, it reveals vulnerability that fails to satisfy its demand due to several realistic problems Although effective utilization of e-leaning system is highly expected in case of computer graphic education on fumiture design, only a few studies and researches have been made compared to other fields in concert with difficulties to purchase expensive programs and secure after the development were analyzed in terms of the education on furniture design by counting some development cases of e-learning educational program in relation with 3ds Max educational course, which is a computer design program for furniture design. For the study, sophomores majoring in furniture design were divided into an experimental and comparison groups. To the experimental offering off-line lecture and e-learning program were provided simultaneously while offering off-line lecture to the comparison group. For the result analysis, the evaluation on assignments that were submitted after the lecture completion as well as survey on the course were prompted. According to the result, all areas including educational participation, assignment performance, test result, average score on lecture evaluation, and lecture satisfaction were shown to be high among the experimental group. Through theses, it was possible to diagnosed advantages and problems that might be generated in the course of developing and executing e-learning programs. Also, it intended to promote educational development in the field of design major by uplifting the educational efficiency and suggesting developmental direction in the future through e-learning. |
