|Ultrasonic cleaning products are being developed to alleviate people’s fear and to solve the problem on remaining microorganism and residual agricultural chemicals. The purpose of this paper is to develop a convergent design of ultrasonic cleaner which is composed of detachable ultrasonic generator and washing container. The methodology and contents, and the result of the study is as follows. As a desk research, domestic and foreign ultrasonic washing technology and design patent trend has been researched, and user experience design study and CMF design analysis was conducted to derive design keywords and design structures of extracted design factors. Based on the keywords and structural directions, concept sketches and rendering were visualized and refined to the final designs through the evaluation and discussions with the experts in this area. The implications of the multi-purposeful and detachable ultrasonic cleaner design is firstly that, this is the convergent design study of design field which is specialized in the maneuverability and usability of users, and the ultrasonic technical field is well collaborated. Secondly, this is a case of development of tailored device that maximize the usage of ultrasonic applied device and satisfy the needs of users through new aesthetic shape. And lastly, this can increase the effect of cleaning, thus possibly can be developed as an eco-friendly cleaner. This is meaningful as a design-centered convergent research and development case. To commercialize this ultrasonic cleaner system, to build the network and to establish the collaboration as business partners of the manufacturing, logistics, marketing and service is necessary.
