The purpose of this study is to suggest the contents of education in learning ethics for the design school students. The study methods are as below. 1)The concept of learning ethics, types of academic misconduct, ethical issues of design field were contemplated by considering previous studies. 2)Ethical issues in design practice were analyzed by gathering cases of design issues and conflicts mainly from domestic media and international intellectual property dispute information portal. 3)By researching the subject of design schools, characteristics of design were included in the course of deducing the contents of education in learning ethics. The results of the study are as follows. 1)Ethical issues in the field of design can be drawn to three issues : plagiarism, eco-friendly·sustainable design, CSR and CSV. 2)With case studies, it was found that the issues of eco-friendliness and plagiarism is constantly emerging. Especially in legal disputes, issues related to trademark rights, design patents, copyrights were addressed as major issues. 3)According to the research on the subjects of design school, it could be seen that the class which directly handle intellectual property right, classes connected with methodology, material theory, and sociocultural point of view, research classes linked with various ethical issues were possible. Above this, it could be known that the class of Eco friendly, universal design practice in itself already connoted design ethics. As a conclusion, the contents of academic ethics of design are as below 1)Promoting to understand the concept of design intellectual property rights in order not to plagiarize other's work. 2)Training to consider the impacts of design on the environment both at the design planning and production stages. 3)Raising the social responsibility as a designer by being aware of the impacts of design of the society and human life. 4)In addition to the above, include education about ethics to be kept in the learning space, purchasing and transferring homework, cheating in examinations, breaching responsibilities in cooperative learning and attendance and examinations. |
