2011년 9월 전북대학교 인문대 2호관 103 강의실에서 그들의 대화는 시작된다.
하루의 말미를 얻어 각자 책을 읽고 만나게 되는데
서로의 첫 마디가 ‘보에티우스의 신’이였다. 서로 말하고자 하는 부분은 맞았지만
그들은 종교인과 비 종교인으로써 서로가 신의 섭리에 대해서, 인간의 자유에 대해서
이야기를 하게 된다. 그들의 대화는 끝을 맺을 수 있을까?
신의 섭리와 인간의 자유가 양립할 수 있을까?
Their talk begins at 103 class room, 2nd building-the college of Humanity,
in someday of Sept. 2011
They gained one day to prepare their presentation. So, Before of their meeting, they read the text book of the class : the philosopies of the western middle age. As soon as they take first talking, each speaks the same word about the theme of their presentation, The God of Boethius. The theme of presentation has their same interests, but is understood differently to each other. They talk eachs ideas about the providence of God and the freedom of Human in their religious positions, a person with religion and without religion.
Is it able to make a conclusion in their meeting?
Is the providence of God compatible with the freedom of Human?
K: 저는 예지라는 것을 믿지 않습니다. 그것은 인간의 고유 영역이 침범 받는 것이라고 생각합니다. 모든 것이 이미 정해져 있고 또 신이 그것을 알고 있다면 인간은 왜 사는 건가요? 현실을 살아가는 것은 지금 서 있는 나에게서 나오는 것인데 지금 내가 해보지도 않은 결정과 일을 모두 알고 있다면 난 꼭두각시와 마찬가지라고 생각합니다. 신의 영역이 있다면 그것이 전부라면 인간은 왜 살까요? 또 신의 영역에 영원한 세계가 있다면 지금 살아가는 이 현세는 무슨 의미가 있을까요?
I dont believe the foreknowledge of God. In my opinion, it is violation about the unique territory of Human. If all the things was preset and God knew this, what is the meaning of humans lives? Taking paths of the life is from me who is standing here, but if someone knows all the works and decisions which I dont make yet, I am but a puppet. In the case of the real existence of the territory of God, and all the meanings of this world belonging to it, what is on earth the meaning of humans lives? Also, if there is the world of eternity in the territory of God, what the meanings does this world have?
I: 여기서 영원한 세계에 대한 문제의 핵심 포인트를 구체화하는 게 중요한 것 같습니다. 영원한 세계, 즉 신적인 의지나 예지에 의해서 우리의 운명과 의지가 이미 결정되었다는 의견이 있죠. 이것은 아우구스티누스의 완고한 예정론으로 해석 될 수 있을 것 같습니다. 아우구스티누스는 이 완고한 예정론을 바탕으로 인간과 세상을 적극적으로 심판하고 개입하는 신을 바랬던 것 같습니다. 인간의 내면의 타락에 대해서 적극적으로 명령하고 권면하는 윤리적인 신을 바랬던 것 아닐까요? 그래서 신국론에서 보이듯이 현세의 삶을 적극적으로 옹호하는 한편 내세에 더 치중을 둬서 일종의 계도 되어야할 기간으로, 내세를 위해서 현세 는 준비를 해야 할 기간으로 본 듯합니다.
I think, it seems more important to concrete critical point of the matter about the world of eternity. There is a idea that our fate and will was already preset by the will and foreknowledge of the divine. This idea can be explained to the stubborn Doctrine of predestination of St. Augustin. Through this basic idea of the stubborn Doctrine predestination, Augustin seems to conceive the image of an ethical God to judge and warn the corruption of Humans inner mind. So, as we have seen in the "The city of God, he have positive thinks about the lives in this world on the one hand, but on the other hand, he consider afterlife more worthy than this world. By such idea, he seems to regard this world as the term of being enlighten, preparing the afterlife.
