Founder
Beautiful Store was established by an active social institution group member who is also a lawyer at the same time. Won-Soon Park was born in March 26th 1956. He was admitted to Seoul National University in 1975, but was expelled because of participating in a student movement. Then he entered Dankook University and graduated in 1979. He passed the bar exam just a year after graduation.
From 1995 to 2002 he was a chief officer in People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy where Beautiful Store has come to be. In 2000, he found the Beautiful Foundation where he still serves as a chief standing director. Currently he is also a chief standing director of Beautiful Store.

Legal form of the organization
The form of the organization has evolved over time. Originally Beautiful Store began as a small team that broke off from People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy. It began operating as a nongovernmental organization pertaining to the Beautiful Foundation. As nonprofit organization raising revenue to help the disadvantaged, it relied on sponsorship. Beautiful Store also sold its recycled products online and later even launched its own brand. In 2007, five years after the founding of the organization, Beautiful Store was legally recognized as a Social Corporate. In 2008, it became an Independent Social Corporate.

Areas of Business
Beautiful Store has eight areas of business which it focuses on: running charity shops, carrying out public campaign, supporting and aiding, volunteering, hosting Beautiful flea market, promoting fair trade, designing recycled products, and fundraising.
Beautiful Store’s “recycle and reuse” charity shops are where people can donate and buy goods. There are over a hundred shops across the nation. Some goods are sold directly as it is and some are repaired or modified before being sold.
It also carries out public campaigns to increase public awareness of issues such as recycling, sharing, donating, and protecting environment by providing an opportunity for citizens to directly participate in activities.
Supporting and aiding the underprivileged is also an extremely significant part of Beautiful Store’s business. It regularly allocates revenues twice a year in June and December and also makes donations in times of natural disasters or accidents. Supporting and aiding also includes non-monetary aiding such as education and cultural development.
The organization recruits volunteers all through the year to help out the neighbors and the society as a whole. Beautiful flea market is held regularly and also irregularly to spread the donating and sharing culture. Beautiful Store promotes fair and ethical trade to help the producers of the third world, developing countries to become economically independent and also help support the poor people of those countries. It created “Echo Party MaeARi” which is a brand that uses wastes to create a new product. The last part of the business is planning and organizing events and occasions to raise funds to support and relief the poor.

What do they provide to the society?
Through eight major areas of business mentioned above, Beautiful Store is contributing to make our society more eco friendly and environment friendly. Through its 81 months of history, this NGO has reduced 10,000 tons of waste, saved 59,200,000,000 won of social cost, and prevented 240,000 tons of CO2 emission. Most significantly, it provided an opportunity and incentives for 14,000,000 people to recycle and reuse. Beautiful Store is promoting good deeds to make changes in our society and these environmental changes will sustain the earth for a while longer for our next generation. This positive effect likely attracted and attracts investors.
