1) Presentation Stage:
A. Presenting dialogue
- Show students video clip of "무릎 팍 도사": a talk show that celebrities come out and talk about their personal worry. Then ask for advice to the host.
- Whole class discussion: What is Wonder Girl's problem?
What is your advice?
- Introduce students expressions used for asking for and giving advice.
2) Practice Stage:
A. Let’s practice (Mechanical Drill)
- Practice making a dialogue with partners by looking at given pictures. (Substitution drill)
B. I Need Help! (Meaningful Drill)
- Watch video clips about people telling their worries.
- Make a dialogue based on the content of the video clip: One person expresses character's worry and asks for advice. Another person gives appropriate advice.
3) Practice to Production Stage:
A. Advice Card Game
(communicative drill; fixed pair work, information gap activity)
- One set contains 16 cards. 8 cards are cards; 8 cards are cards.
- On the cards, there are pictures describing a worries or concern. (ex. picture of Sleepy dwarf means that your are tired)
- On the cards, there are pictures that indicates "possible" advice for a worry.(ex. picture of a woman jogging might be advice to exercise)
- Every card has a matching card from card.
