Earth is divided into two hemispheres, north(rich)&south(poor), at the equator.

The division in power and wealth comprising the global north and global south
Poses both moral and security problems.

The rules governing international politics today were constructed in the
1648 peace of Westphalia following Europe's thirty years' war.

The powerful did not design a global system for equals; the great powers followed the prescription of realist thought to always seek self-advantage.

Almost all of the independent sovereign states in the southern hemisphere
were at one time colonies. Today's inequalities are a product of this past colonization.

Global north countries are wealthy and democratic.
In contrast, according to the world bank, the global south countries were gone to
85 percent of the world's population but possess only 20 percent of the globe's wealth.

Today, few colonies exist, and the decolonization process is almost complete.
However, the effects persist.
Colonialism?

Building and maintaining of colonies in one territory by people based elsewhere

Colonialism is a process whereby sovereignty over the colony is claimed by the metro pole, who impose a new government and perhaps a new social structure and economy

Colonialism comprises unequal relationships between metro pole and colony and between colonists and the indigenous population.
With the industrial revolution,
Capitalism grow from both the Marxist and classical liberal perspectives,
The material needs of capitalists societies explained their imperial drive.

Marxism–Leninism is a communist ideological stream that emerged
As the mainstream tendency among the communist parties in the 1920s
As it was adopted as the ideological foundation of the
Communist international during Stalin's era.

Imperialism through overseas expansion was simply a global extension of
this inter European competition for dominance
inspired by the real politic theoretical premise that all states have
an unquenchable thirst for more and more power.
