① Protectionism
- Protectionism is the economic policy of restraining trade between states.
- This policy contrasts with free trade, where government barriers to trade and movement of capital are kept to a minimum.
- In recent years, it has become closely aligned with anti-globalization.
② Free Trade
- Free trade is a system of trade policy that allows traders to act and or transact without interference from government.
- Under a free trade policy, prices are a reflection of true supply and demand.
All three bilateral agreements would bolster relations with important allies. And American exporters should be concerned that while Washington dawdles, other countries are going ahead with their own trade deals. South Korea and the European Union have an agreement, as do Colombia and Canada.
American exporters should be concerned because of Washington`s lazy attitude toward global trade negotiations and prompt trade deals between other countries.
