How did that happened and what did the kings do to manage the catastrophic situation? It can be found in the historical document called ‘Annals of the Cho sun Dynasty - 조선왕조실록’. According to the Annals of the Cho sun Dynasty the worst damage they got from the hurricane was during king TaeJong’s era. 66ships from Jun-ra area were totally broken down, over 200 people died and about 5800석(unit) rice was soaked by water.
During SaeJoing king’s era, so called one of the most prosperous period of Cho sun dynasty, there were many hurricanes. 9th year of SaeJong king’s era, there was hurricane in Kyoung-sang province, trees were torn off and rice was damaged. In addition 26 ships were broken on the pier.
