- Interview Question & Answer
We have designed the following questions to ask our interviewee in KT, and tried to analyze the answers to explore the change in centralization, formulation, complexity of KT.
(Centralization)
1. Q: Decisions are usually made by people in upper level management positions.
A: The person who holds the upper level, middle level and lower level management position respectively deals with issues separately.
2. Q: No action can be taken before a decision of the upper level.
A: No.
3. Q: Even very small things must be reported to the superior. A decision is made after this process.
A: No.
4. Q: When decision-making, the related employee is attend to the meeting to be asked.
A: Yes.
5. Q: Group representatives cannot decide solely, rather they must listen to the opinions from the participants first.
A: Yes.
(Formulation)
1. Q: Everybody performs each duty by book.
A: Yes.
2. Q: Whatever matters have to comply with the procedures.
A: Yes.
3. Q: A business policy or instructions must be conveyed through the announcement.
A: Yes.
4. Q: If you violate the rules or procedures, you will be punished by a strict system of punishment.
A: It depends on the event. The punishment for ethical matter would be strict, but the one for the procedure matter is not really strict.
5. Q:You feel you are always under surveillance to confirm whether you stick to regulations or not.
A:No
(Complexity)
1. Q:All the business has been dissected and specialized according to each department.
A:Yes.
2. Q: In order to be responsible for specialized business services division, everyone has their own tasks.
A: Yes.
3. Q: In some of our departments in the organization, we should take a lot of new duties.
A: Yes. For example, the output of iphone4 and iphone5 generated a lot of new responsibility.
- Analysis
(Centralization)
The level of decision-making in KT is divided into the upper level, middle level and lower level management position respectively. In other words, they decide optimum level of cases according to status or character. CEO fully collects the manager's reports and finally considers advisors' opinions, not only he's own opinion.
(Formulation)
In KT, all the business and duties related to content and implementation methods are stipulated, so employees should follow these rules in corporation. Also, employees should obey these stipulated rules in case of certain circumstances. KT doesn't inflict heavy punishment on someone who violates stipulated rules. In procedural case, they take a flexible attitude in importance of the case. On the other hand, in the ethical matter, punishment is implemented strictly because it is a serious problem that can’t be ignored for corporation's image and culture. But they shouldn't keep a close watch, so it is not causing low morale or dissatisfaction among employees.
