a. Opportunity analysis
These days in Korea, after WBC & Beijing Olympics, the popularity of the Korean baseball is dramatically increasing. Because of this new trend in Korea, there are surges in demand in baseball industries.
In addition to this condition, there are other conditions which attract us to make a business in baseball industries. First, the younger the player are, many Korean young ladies are attracted to baseball games. So then, the more ladies go watching the baseball, the more men also go watching the baseball. Based upon this condition, many young manias need the new place to watch the baseball in their young ways.
Second, the Korean baseball games usually start at 6:30. Due to this, many workers not around the baseball parks can’t even go to baseball parks easily. So they want to go some places to watch the baseball and to drink some beers at the same time.
The third is that there are enough pubs which have some good attractive characteristics or some features like England pubs. In other words, the Korean pubs are almost same as the ‘hof’ in Korea, so they have no characteristics. Therefore, we could devise this business in terms of new rising customer’s demands in the related industries and customer’s utility and our specialization.
b. Competitive analysis
One of the most key rivals is the baseball parks in Korea, It’s because they really offer the exactly same products as we offer. In the face of pricing, they charge much prices on the entrance fee than ours. In terms of promotion, they can easily use the patriotic images such as “Come to our baseball park for the improvement of Korean baseball”. So, they can easily draw many people to come to their baseball parks. In distribution, they use direct channel. They offer the opportunity to see the games directly, and then in the ground they sell many foods and drinks. But this is same as we do. Next rival is many so called “Hof”s in Korea. Even if they don’t aim at offering the baseball – based services, in those places, many customers can drink with watching the baseball games at the same time. Another is pricing part.
